Story Of The Drama Lawaris
Laawaris unfolds the tale of an 8-year-old orphan named Sonu, cruelly mistreated by his stepmother while his father, Ramesh Lal, worked as a tutor. During Ramesh Lal’s absence on a trip, Sonu endured severe abuse and decided to flee to the city. Upon Ramesh Lal’s return, he was falsely informed that Sonu had succumbed to shock, leading to Ramesh Lal’s demise from a heart attack. Left alone on the city streets, Sonu’s story takes a dramatic turn. This narrative revolves around Noor Elahi, a figure fixated on securing his Gaddi Nasheeni (Succession) through a grandson. Despite Noor Elahi’s religious stature and regional respect, he strongly prefers a boy’s arrival to a girl’s. However, fate disrupts his plans with a clandestine switch during his grandchild’s birth, raising doubts about the purity of Noor Elahi’s bloodline.
